Tiffany and Caleb, who were in town as part of the Ultimate RV Show, also made 90 “camping backpack kits” for the students, who picked them up in advance. For the Remington’s, the virtual campout was designed to alleviate the stay-at-home blues suffered by kids throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Due to COVID, many students have been experiencing isolation and a loss of connection due to moving school mostly online. We wanted to create an experience where they could see friends and also enjoy something virtual that is not classwork."

Katherine Jones, owner and instructor of Kumon of Beaverton, enthused, “Tiffany and Caleb created such a wonderful event. The students still talk about it. Who would have thought of going camping on Zoom?”
The event was part of the Good Sam Be Good Do Good initiative, which encourages campers to give back to their communities. The Remingtons can be found online on Good Sam’s Instagram account and their personal Instagram account.
